Max opened his mouth but didnt say a word.

"Im a vampire," he said seriously.

All I wanted was to study medicine, to make my father proud so he would stop hitting me. But every day, his hatred grew stronger. And that's before he found out I'm gay. I thought my life couldn't get any worse until Alex came along, declaring that I now belonged to him. The worst part? He's not quite right in the head, and he's definitely hiding something. But I think I can't live without him anymore...

"W-what are you doing?" I stammered, clutching his arms tightly to keep from falling.
"You said it yourself you dont want to live," he said, pressing me closer to the edge. "Do you still want to die?"

I gasped for air, blinking back tears that were threatening to spill over. For the first time, I felt genuinely terrified.

"Who even needs me?" I choked out a sob.
"I need you, Nat," Alex whispered, pulling me back from the edge and wrapping his arms around my shoulders.
